Basically, the forum skinning engine will work similar to that of the core. Tokens will be used, which are forum skin objects, in combination with HTML. While it may seem obvious, the question this thread was created to answer is which items will be tokens. Please feel free to discuss what you would like to have as a token when creating a forum skin.

All those token items would be in a 'header' or 'footer' section, while the inner parts of the post would have another set that gets repeated.

What I am thinking is there will need to be a way on the server side to validate some tokens in some areas, for example:
I don't want the search control ever rendered inside a post or in a thread view (the grid like listing). I have another idea that just came to me, but I will keep it out of this token thread. Just keep the notes about placement of tokens and validation in mind.
